The Mystery Behind Humans

The Mystery Behind Humans

One of the most mysterious phenomenon that I’ve always encountered is “Procrastination“. No matter who you are, everyone falls for this disease. You want to do something or you have to do something, but in the end you will opt to do something else that’s probably not related at all. (i.e Watching a show when you’re supposed to do homework, or sleeping when you’re supposed to do a client job).

For me, it’s quite a different story….actually not really. I just like to think I’m doing another productive thing over another but in reality, it’s the same. I always procrastinate my work, and I have no idea why. Sometimes, doing work after work doesn’t appeal to me so I need that short break to watch a video, listen to some music, eat something, or browse the internet.

Parkinson’s Law states:

Work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion.

One of the key points to procrastination I would say. If you have a paper, you’d definitely won’t finish until the last day. If you have client work, then you won’t finish it until that last set date you told your client that you will be done. Why does this happen? It’s a big mystery. Maybe our minds and body knows the capabilities of our working potential that allows us to do all the crammed work. Or maybe we work better under pressure and through the adrenaline that something is due soon we get an extra boost in creativity and working power.

A Mystery is Still a Mystery

Thinking of theories of how the mind functions and how humans react is always interesting to me. As a logical person, I always seem to require some sense to why a certain thing happens, or why a certain person said this or that. Otherwise, their statement or feeling seems…invalid.

However, sometimes you just have to deal with it. The world is built on mysteries. You can’t truly know why humans react the way they do, and there’s always not a real definite answer behind their actions. However, one mystery that I do believe in and that’s faith and hope. If you believe in your dreams and pursue your goals, then they will come towards you closer and closer. If you want to be rich, you can be rich. Research the steps, work hard for it, and you’ll see it come in, dollar by dollar. If you want to be a doctor, then you know the rough steps to doing it, so you have to do them and again work hard for it.

To simply put this whole journal entry to a few words

Don’t question, just do.
