And so after many self-realizations about who I am, what I am, what I do, and all those fun questions about myself, I’ve come to notice that I’m probably pushing too far beyond of my current abilities and capabilities. I know, it’s good to aim high, but if you aim higher than what you’re capable of, or aiming for a goal that you’re not ready for, then you’re really putting yourself in a situation where you’re completely lost, confused, and really “depressed” about your situation. By “depressed“, I’m not meaning you’re sad about something, but more so, you just feel a bit down because you have all these great ideas, great motives, and fabulous goals to do, but in reality, you’re just pushing yourself into a corner that’s going to be hard to get out.

Sometimes you have to let go of things in order free time to do other things. Sometimes you have to readjust who you are in order to realize what you can do/capable of. And to put it bluntly, sometimes you need to sit down and say to yourself, “Who am I?”.

The main problem that I’ve been dealing with was figuring out what to do with my blogs/websites/online homes. One side of me wants to do a graphics blog with tutorials, resources, and so forth. The other part of me wants to do something personal. I have this studio that I’m starting to bring to the surface, and I have a lot of projects that I want to do to be a part of my network community (so to speak).

After reading an article by David Bushell about his reason for “blogging”, it finally hit me on what I really wanted to do. I’ll be creating a new blog that will be my personal extension of myself as a designer along with having this blog to still supply tutorials, resources, inspiration, and other things towards the community. The journal category will be lying about, since I do cherish this layout a lot, but the new blog will have a simplistic look on it, as I want the content to be the main attraction. In addition, http://creative-le.com will turn more into my company’s website as times goes by.

I’ll be giving you a heads up on the new blog and domain when it comes, and just giving you a notice that I’m not dead or forgotten about the blog posts on this site. I’ve been going through a lot of headaches figuring out what to do. You’ll see some interesting updates in the next few weeks, and I’ll definitely blog about them.

Another doubtful post title and maybe depressing for some of you. Trust me, I’m not really living a stressful life or living in depression (although everyone has their moments) it just seems like bad things just happen to me, but in the end if I keep hope, then hopefully things will turn around. Anyway:

Happy July 4th to you guys. I’m rather late, but for the past 2 days I’ve been working on catching up from my mishap last blog post, and I can finally say that I’m caught up to where I was. Which is a plus and negative since I definitely wanted to be farther than that, however I did do other things that didn’t include watching fireworks or celebrating the independence of America with other people.

Let’s recap my weekend and make a new list for myself for this week.

Recap of the Weekend + More

1. As I mentioned, I redid my CSS styling for the wordpress theme that I’m currently working on with Vtension. And now I’m left to do the comments, the archives loop page, and making the portfolio function, as well as contact pages and forms, and finally theme options for it. And THEN I have to fill the content up so that it looks nice as a demo. So close, yet so far. This will my top priority.

2. Worked on a friend’s site for his business. As much as I wanted to push this to the side, for some reason I did most of the work that needed to be done for it this weekend. I basically took an old looking site with super awesome TABLES and great ASPX technology, and wrapped it in some plain divs and css and it magically put itself together. And I also put up his site for his other section of business that will hopefully do well. In the end, I worked a lot more on it than I expected and got a lot more done than I expected and so this was a plus for my weekend.

3. I watched all the episodes that are currently subbed for Schemes of Beauty. Those of you that know about dramas especially asian ones, can know that it’s almost a task just to keep updated, or catch up, or watch these dramas. However, I guess I’m glad I had some insomniac as of late since I’ve been watching these episodes pretty late at night. Then again, once I watch one clip, I just can’t stop until my eyes just quit for the day. Schemes of Beauty is a really good drama and I’m glad Vina recommended it to me. Now I’m kind of anxious because, now I have to wait for the other episodes to be subbed and who knows how long that will take.

As a result, I’m looking for another show to watch, so korean, chinese, japanese…whatever recommendations you may have, feel free to give me some.

4. I got a piano! But I haven’t used it fully yet. I need to organize my room for space, but the midi to USB converter I bought works well with my Mac and Synthesia, so when I get the chance I hope I can entrance myself into the world of music. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do, but never had the time and motivation to do it. But I think with the way my life is going now, I have good motivation to practice. (Can’t say that I have time, but I do have the strive). I’d like to thank my teacher for lending the piano for me. It saves me money, plus it’ll probably give me a good feel of using a piano again after having not touching one since highschool. (although I was bad back then too)

5. Getting rid of more stuff. My 2nd monitor is up for a prize tonight, and so is my iPod Touch, but my friend helped me on that by giving away his old iPhone 3GS to me and so I no longer needed an iPod Touch. More and more I want to live life to its minimal state, but it’s getting harder as time goes by. I definitely need to go through my garage and make a garbage corner since I’m desperately looking for a place to live now and don’t want to own so many things.

6. It feels like I did more, but probably didn’t. In all, I had a work-filled holiday. I’ll get to posting some things this week. I owe you guys a tutorial, and I think I might do a list of links since I recently compiled a list for someone that wanted some inspiration and sites to look at.

One of the biggest flaws to multi-tasking is mixing work with other work. I probably lost 1-2 weeks of work while I was working on two sites and of course working on two sites that carry the same system and file names is not a perfect situation for multitasking. In the end, I overwrote my theme that I was working on and now I need to redo all the styles to it. I’m glad I didn’t lose the actual function of it but, I think the CSS sheets are the ones I spent the most time on. Well, tonight is going to be a long night to do that plus another work that I need to do.

Just a reminder to all my viewers, even the hardest of workers fails to pay attention on things. So save your work….even though writing this won’t change my habit of saving, but hopefully it’ll make me slow down on my work and concentrate on one thing at a time…..maybe.

And, hopefully this weekend I get some time to post another 3D Tutorial, and some coding tips, so I’ll find the time for that. See you around!

Yeah, I’m aware I’m late for a lot of things, like a tutorial, journal update, and so forth, but I assure you, I’ll catch up sometime. After reviewing my site, I had a little discussion in my head on what’s really needed, and what’s not needed. I decided to do a points game with my site and basically you look at every element and give it points based on whether you really needed it, or not.

New Creative-Le Studio Site?

I looked at my site with the perspective of a regular user/bored blog reader like yourself and thought to myself, is this necessary, or junk. In all, I removed a few things, I tightened up some graphics at the same time giving some space. The navigation reflects the direction of the blog, being both personal but also a studio blog to post tutorials, resources, inspiration, and other things. My goal is to bring you guys a design that’s easy to read, and visually pleasing that doesn’t distract you at the same time.

And as a result, we have the new Creative-Le Studio Blog that’s ready to be populated (I still have to make some pages to talk about my group).

Collins College Contest #2

On a lighter note, I’m starting to live a more minimal life (trying to get rid of unnecessary things I own). I’m getting rid of my 23″ monitor to one of my teacher’s class to give as an award for the “Best Flash/Interface Design” in her class. Today is the last day of their submission, and I’m pretty stoked to see the final projects. I’m bad at judging because I tend to get biased, but I’m glad that’s why I have multiple judges. I’ll be posting their work soon if I get permission, so be on the look out for some great interfaces or not.

Old Updates and Pictures

Hopefully one of these days I’ll find the time to post some old pictures that I’ve taken when I was in Las Vegas with Intothedarkroom. The company trip to Las Vegas was really fun and inspired me to hopefully raise enough money through freelancing to take my company there as well. (I really want to see another Cirque du Soleil show)

Music Inspired…

I don’t know why, but lately I’ve been getting in the mood to learn the piano. Perhaps I’ll buy one in the near future, but at the moment, I’m saving my money and watching piano videos constantly. There’s really only a few things I want my life to consist of and if my theory works then I should be in a good state.

Hey once again. I’m back but, again I’m stuck in that phase where you think you’ve done stuff, but at the same time it just seems work isn’t stopping. At the moment, I’m coming at a crossroad of what to do next in my life. I still have my faith in what I eventually want and cherish at the same time, it’s hard to get there. And so, I’m taking a good initiative to keep blogging about my life and what I do and what I have to do. It helps me keep my focus straight and makes sure to cut out things that I certainly don’t need or not beneficial.

One good news….

I’m beginning my first company, LLC, studio, or whatever you want to call it. So far I have 4 people along with myself, and I can say we cover a good variety of multimedia talents. The company isn’t official, but in due time, I will gear things towards that. I’ve always wanted to work with people, and people that share in the same interest of web design, art, graphics, and coding.

I may be recruiting for more, but for now, I find it comfortable (well, not really, we just have no planned direction to go yet). The main thing is..I appreciate people that want to do things for the sake of doing it. Obviously hiring people to do work with no pay is probably the hardest thing to do for a company, but with friends and like minds, a group can be formed to do what you love to do with no cost.

And so…I have a lot of work to be doing. I’ve done a lot…I got business cards done, websites done, and figuring out some schedule for my blog. I think I’ll do that now, so this post doesn’t seem too useless.

So here’s my schedule for the blog and also myself in some sort. You don’t have to memorize this schedule, just subscribe, follow me on twitter, or follow me on facebook, and you’ll get the updates as soon as I post them.

Blogging Schedule

Monday Headlines – Recap of my week/Updates/News…basically just me talking about what’s happening personally or any new news about the site/studio. (Will most likely be journal entries)

Tuesday Tips + Tricks – Tips, tricks, and any short tutorials that I’ll randomly decide to talk about whether it be about CSS, HTML, a quick workaround behind a problem, how to set up certain things, etc…

Wednesday Listings – Might be a list of links, list of resources, list of something that will be useful, inspiring, or interesting.

Thursday Tutorials – Thursday Tutorials will feature tutorials made by my studio or myself. These will be full fledged tutorials with pictures or perhaps a video.

Friday Free Day – Anything goes. News, resource, tutorials, tips. It’s free for all, so anything may come.

Saturday/Sunday – Nothing is planned, but if I do have a post, it might be more journal related since I’m trying to free my weekends for personal work and relaxing.

Conclusion

So that’s the new daily schedule. I apologize if I don’t happen to follow it strictly, but I’m hoping it’ll be quite smooth and I’ll be dedicating 1-2 hours on blogging everyday. Thanks for visiting my site and subscribe, comment, link, contribute, have fun.
